SAMS/NARTI Structured Writing Retreat Series for Early Career Researchers **registration closed**

Date: 24 January 2019 to 25 January 2019
Location: Weetwood Hall, Leeds

The aim of the Structured Writing Retreats is to use dedicated writing time to progress and prioritize our writing projects. This is in a supportive, non-surveillance environment. The retreat is based on 3 evidence based key principles:

  1. The ‘typing pool’ which means that we all write individually but are in the same room for the duration of the retreat (Grant & Knowles 2000).
  2. The use of a series of fixed writing and discussion slots (McGrail et al 2006).
  3. The use of peer discussion to review progress during the retreat (Murray 2005)

More detail of the retreat structure can be found in Murray and Newton (2009)
